The 4th FIAE International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition 2025

16th – 21st June, 2025 (Physical Rounds)
Introduction
The 4th FIAE International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition, was held in a hybrid format with the preliminary rounds virtually (online) from 19 to 27 May 2025 and the advance rounds 16th to 21st June 2025 physically at Cavendish University in Uganda. The Competition was hosted by Firdaous Initiative for Academic Excellence, in partnership with the School of Law, Cavendish University in Uganda.
This year’s Competition saw Thirty Five African teams registering to Participate. This years Moot Problem covered areas of Protection of Women & Children, Climate Change and Armed Conflict, Marine Warfare and Occupation.

Objectives
- To increase awareness and understanding of IHL among law students in Africa.
- To encourage law students to develop skills in analyzing and applying IHL principles in practical scenarios.
- To create a platform for law students to engage with IHL experts and practitioners.
- To foster a culture of respect for IHL principles in Africa.
