[10th December 2023]: Firdaous Initiative for Academic Excellence vehemently condemns the heinous and deliberate attack on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) convoy that occurred on Sunday December 10th 2023 in Khartoum, Sudan, resulting in unacceptable casualties and damage.
The deliberate targeting of humanitarian aid convoys undermines the fundamental principles of humanity and compassion that form the cornerstone of global efforts to alleviate suffering and provide assistance to those in need. Attacks on entities such as the ICRC, which are devoted to delivering critical aid and support to vulnerable populations, represent a blatant disregard for human life and international humanitarian law.
As an organization committed to academic excellence, ethical leadership, and the promotion of peace, we stand in solidarity with the ICRC and all humanitarian organizations affected by such unwarranted aggression. We call for a thorough investigation into this reprehensible incident and urge authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice swiftly.
In the face of such adversity, it is imperative that the international community reaffirms its dedication to safeguarding humanitarian efforts and protecting aid workers who tirelessly serve those affected by conflicts and crises worldwide.
